KAN
a new year retreat in Holbox, Mexico.
What you plant here, transforms everything.
KAN is the Mayan symbol of the seed.
The beginning. The spark of life before it is visible.
Before anything grows, the soil must be tended.
Before the vision, the resolution, the plan or the becoming, there is a quieter place beneath it all, the place where we decide what is worth planting, what we are ready to release, and what we want to give our energy to next.
KAN is an invitation to begin the year there.
Not by rushing into who you think you should become, but by creating the space to listen to who you already are.
For five days and four nights, we gather in Holbox to work with Mayan symbolism, ritual, the elements, sound, movement, breath and intentional reflection, tending to our inner soil before planting the seeds of the year ahead.
An intimate container. A sacred pause. A different way to begin the year.
There comes a moment when you realize a new year doesn’t require a new you. It asks for a more honest one.
By the end of January, the noise of resolutions has begun to quiet. The pressure to have it all figured out starts to fade. And beneath it, there is an opportunity to listen.
What do you actually want to grow this year?
Before we plant, we tend the soil.
We clear what no longer belongs. We nourish what has been neglected. We create space for what is asking to emerge.
KAN was created for those who are ready to:
Get clear on what they truly desire
Reconnect to their body, intuition, and inner voice
Release what they don't want to carry into another year
Intentionally plant the seeds of what they are ready to grow
Guided by the Mayan symbolism of KAN, the seed, we work with ritual, sound, the body, and the elements to create the conditions for something new to take root.
Not from pressure to become someone else.
But from a deeper connection to who you already are and what you are ready to nurture next.
YOUR SANCTUARY
Holbox is not a place you rush through.
It is a place that softens you.
An island rich in Mayan history, once used as a point of passage and ceremony where the veil between the physical and the unseen has always felt just a little thinner. With no cars, only sand roads and open sky, life here moves differently.
You walk slower.
You listen deeper.
You remember what matters.
Nomade Holbox is a sanctuary within that sanctuary. Designed with intention, natural textures, open air spaces,
and oceanfront views every detail invites you back into presence.
Here, you are held by the land. By the rhythm of the tides. By the simplicity of being.
OUR ACCOMMODATIONS
When Nômade’s in-house architects conceived the design of the property, their vision was for the lived experience to interweave with the natural environment as much as possible; so they crafted the 30 rooms across 3 layers from earth to sky, using sustainable local woods and state-of the-art systems to maximize energy efficiency and waste management.

A new year will ask something of you.
The question is whether you will move through it on autopilot or choose how you want to meet it.
KAN is the pause before the planting.
A place to listen before deciding.
To clear before creating.
To tend the soil before asking anything new to grow.
You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what comes next.
Only willing to create the space to hear what is true and courageous enough to plant from there.
Limited spaces.
Because intimacy matters.
Because depth requires space.
Because what we plant with intention deserves to be tended with care.
